it is funny because years ago we did a little survey about this and found out many of us have that problem.

Yes I used to 96 and under Id drink hot tea and wrap myself up .I was scared of getting hypothermia ,probably couldnt happen but my imagination is good . Then I started runnin g a fever 101,100, 99.6 and since Id always run low temp I was concerned but Im so bad I never went to the doc I ran fevers for about 2 years ,it turned out I have and autoimmune disease on top of the fibro .I was hoping the fibro was part of it and they could give me pills to feel better but sadly my fibro gotten worse :(

Yeah, MT-- it's strange how the low temperature topic came back to life again, good to revisit it. This was a REALLY common issue.

I just took my temperature a few days ago when this flare started:

96.8

Having a temperature of 98.6 feels like a fever to me-- as if I have almost 101, practically two degrees above normal. A temperature of 105-- which I had when I got Salmonella, and during my worst teenage flare-- is a real Alice-in-Wonderland bad trip mad-hatter experience, complete with florid hallucinations... I remember the thermometer turning into a chicken leg and falling out of my mouth when I passed out momentarily and came to. Cups and saucers flying across the ceiling.

Don't get much fever now with flares, fortunately.

I told my rheumy about it (low temperature), and did not get a response. Rheumys puzzle me.

It does not surprise me.

There are a few symptoms that we may know a lot more about than they do. This is one of them.

Why would anyone study this illness? Too few of us have it, there's no money in it.

If my new rheumatologist is any good, maybe I will finally build that research instrument. And we can do some advocacy.

From what I've been told/read, all of us could be lined up in a row & every single one of us would have a diff presentation of this disease. I figure that WE are providing our docs with he info on this disease for the next generation.
