Well, he could not pull up my latest event monitor findings. I was in the office for over 2 hours. So, he did not see what needed to be treated. He promised to keep trying to look at it! But said I needed an MP study to really determine if an ablation would help me. An MP study maps the electrical system of the heart. So that is scheduled for April. He told the nurse to tell me I could take all my meds the day of the test. I could not believe I should take my anti arrhythmic and made her ask him. Sure enough, he said not to take it! I hope they can get it together better than this. But, it seems there were 2 interventionists and one quit the first of the year. So, he is covering all his patients and the other guys too! They are recruiting so maybe it will be better by April!

I know this is easy for me to say but I work in a cath lab and closely with EP Dr's etc. The ablation is not so bad its easier than a colonoscopy LOL. The hard part is just finding the right pathway. The MP test is a good one. Hope it goes well. Are you having SVT???

I have heard rumors (LOL) of SVT. Well, I actually saw a strip of SVT. But my latest monitor was rumored to be a lot more than that, SVT, PACs, PVCs, and maybe AF. Maybe? I havent heard for sure and since the interventionist could not access the info, I still don't know! I hope the EP will clarify all of this. What do you think?

Usually they do the Ablation for SVT. If you are just having PAC's And PVC's they would just not worry too much a lot of people have those and are fine. They make you feel a little skip in your heartbeat once in awhile. Maybe some meds. AF would be treated with meds and /or possible cardioversion. SVT would need the MP and possible ablation. They would be looking to see where the electrical pathway is coming from and if its from one area or multiple areas. Multiple areas is more complex. keep us updated ---Michelle

I was set up for surgery, laying on the bed, backless jammies, husband off work, the whole shebang. The nurse asked me which arm I wanted the hep in and I told her the opposite of the one I had the blood clot in. They were like, what????

I had went over my current meds and they even took a copy of the list I keep in my wallet during the consultation before the surgery. They had missed the Coumadin.

Had to get dressed, go home and reschedule. Things like this keep me nervous.

I hope your procedure goes well in April. I'd still ask them again...and maybe again...about your medication.

I hope things work out, and the Dr. gets some help managing! Scary when the professionals mess up.
