Hello,

Haven't written in awhile. I have been really busy with work so that means I have been sick. I went to my Doctor and she put me back on Lyrica. She also gave me steroid shots but I am not sure it worked. I am only 34 and I want to be able to work. I grew up with my mom and grandmother on disability and that is not the life I want to live.

My question is: Has anyone really had any real help with Lyrica and does it make you gain weight?

Oh and I told other people I got those shots who I have told about my disease and they were like "Why?" Because I am sick. No one ever believes me and that is frustrating too. Okay, sorry to complain but I guess that is why I am on here sometimes.

I had a woman at my church that was constantly badgering me to do more volunteer work. She recently put my name on a document that I was in charge of a committee, without telling me! The woman in charge on the national level called me for a report! I told the woman at my church about my disease and she just said I looked to good to be that sick! And walked away! What the.....! Did she think I was faking or what! Well, I told her I wasnt doing that job and she just laughed!
It is amazing how people see others. Some people are so blind. But now, I dont care what other people think(Well, for the most part). I just try not to do what will hurt me. If they get mad, then too bad. What a bitch I am turning out to be! Sigh.

I try NOT to complain or even talk about it because I get the same thing. Sometimes I really am too sick to work and then I tell people and they are like oh is that serious? Ugh!! I am sure we all have stories like that.

you guys are all sooo right. I have family members and friends that if I complain or say anything they just stare at me, or say things like "you gotta pull out of this, you only get one life" or "i'm sorry, that sucks"...I have friends at work that ask me everyday how I am and I told them to just please quit asking cause for now I am the same everyday, I feel like when they ask me everyday I sound like I am complaining to them everyday. But I should say I probably get more support and understanding from friends at work than I do most of my outside family members or other friends.

Yes Jessica, I was on lyrica for a few months, i don't think he made me gain weight. It was a great drug for me as far as helping with the numbness and tingling, my biggest problem was I had to take a high dose, and it really made me lupie and that was the reason I had to stop talking in. I am in the medical field, and there are tons of people who have great sucess with this drug. good luck.
