He wants me to quit my job after marriage

My boyfriend of 5 years proposed to me and I gladly accepted the proposal. Now, we’re discussing our plans post-wedding. One thing that hit me most is his demand for me to quit my job after we get married. I work in a foreign marriage agency he says he feels uncomfortable with me working there. Basically, we match foreign individuals and assist these couples of the all the legal documents and such. Should I agree with him? I’ve been working since before we met and he knows full well what I do for a living. Why now? Why can’t I keep working?

Noooo. Try like hell to keep your own life too. A partnership is to share some of life when it becomes all then its trouble. Whatever his reason there may be a deeper one that he can’t or won’t admit. Find that reason and explore its roots. Nip any unhealthy issues in the bud before they get too big.

Um, no. And your characterization of this as a “demand” is a big vivid red flag for me.

What do you see as his motivation and/or rationale ???
