It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
Yes I'm stupid, but I need some support please :(

Wasn't sure where to post this because my problems seem like a combination of everything.
Early in 2006 I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia due to a cannabis induced psychosis. After a couple of months treatment in hospital I was discharged and was doing quite well. However, I wasnt over the cannabis addiction and began smoking again (it helped me to escape the thoughts of being in hospital and the feelings of failure).
I had to quit so I could get my driving license back, but I couldnt deal with being sober. Thats when I discovered a legal herbal smoking blend called Spice Gold (Google it if you want) which can be easily bought online here in the UK. It seemed perfect because it got me high and I didnt have worries about failing my drug test or getting in a lot of trouble with my parents.
However, I got addicted to this Spice stuff and after a few months of use I realised I had a serious problem and decided to quit. Im over the addiction now, but Im having a lot of trouble focusing and thinking properly. Basically, I'm having these symptoms:
Loss of concentration
Feeling overwhelmed easily
Feeling slower mentally/everything seems to take more thought (this is very worrying)
Clenching my teeth (this may be due to my medication)
Other people have been smoking this Spice stuff longer then I have and dont complain about having these symptoms.
I feel so stupid for taking the medication I was prescribed (Sertraline and Amisulpride) and smoking this Spice stuff. At the time it was great and even seemed to help me block out the negative thoughts better than cannabis. But now its ruining my friendships because I dont feel like my old self anymore (Im nowhere near as witty or impulsive).
I managed to get a part-time job at a computer game shop but Im doing quite badly at that, I was close to being fired because I didnt go in a couple times (was feeling extremely depressed/hopeless at that time)
I just hope to God this isnt permanent.. I feel like a lost cause at the moment. I spend most of my days at home listening to the radio while lying in bed, I feel like I cant do anything else. Im beginning to feel like I need hospital again because something just isnt right with me. Ive had suicidal thoughts for over a month and I feel like I cant get out of this rut. Im trying to turn my life around (eating better, some exercise) but Im finding it really hard. Does anyone have any positive advice?

Yeah, get a grip. I used to feel the same way. Missing work, lazy, stupid, loner. I grew up. Got bored with it. Got tired of being a nobody. Wanted more out of life. When I was 15 I first tripped on purple micro dot. Since then I have smoked pot my whole life and I am now 53. At this point I smoke maybe once or twice a year. when I was 19 to 22 I bet between 3 or 4 of us we would smoke an ounce every night thru the summer. By the time I was in my 30's we were smoking about 2 or 3 times a week. I got married and had kids and then it was 3 or 4 times a month. Now I hardly even think about it but occaisionally will have a toke. I have stashes I have forgotten about around the house that are perhaps 5 to 10 years old. So get a grip man. It is not as addicting as you think. What do you want to do for the rest of your life? Get busy at doing that. Quit wallowing in your pity about pot.

It is hard to let go especially if something comforts you. you really need to surround yourself around positive people. this may seem really far off for you now but be careful how you live, because when you become old you relive your life through your memories. Do not let your old age be full of regrets.

Im trying my hardest to get a grip, believe me. I no longer smoke weed or that bloody Spice stuff, Im through with it. I want to succeed in life and give back to my parents for all the support theyve given me. I dont know how to describe it, but it feels like Ive been dropped on my head or something! I cant seem to snap out of it. The doc I see puts it down to psychological causes, but I really dont know. My meds changed recently so could be something to do with that, Ive got an appointment tomorrow so I can discuss it then. Im trying to keep positive. Merry Christmas thx for the replies.
