Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
You have mentioned that he does not take his psychiatric meds. I have a sister who was diagnosed with anxiety and she also refused to take medications or counselling. Because of this she fought a hard battle. Me and my other sisters are her support group. I talk to her almost everyday about anything just to let her know that she’s not alone. I encouraged her to attend a life group which she meets online once a week. After a few meetings she enjoyed it and it helped her to improve her mood.
If you can encourage your son to talk to a trusted friend or family about his feelings, it would be great. Some kids open up to other people than to their parents. You can also encourage him to join a life group for teens. My friend’s daughter, she’s 14, was going through depression and since she attended a life group for teens in our church, it helped her to feel less lonely because she realized that she’s not alone.
Praying for you and for your son. Please keep us posted. We are here for each other, God bless.
Here for any more advice. Please feel free and open to talk again. Keeping you and your son in prayers. GOD Bless!!
He does not want lables but I think that perhaps a diagnosis might make him elegible for disability and that could lead to independence. I hate to think that way and I haven't told him. However, if things don't change or of things escalate I will bring it up. What do you do when helping a child means hurting him at the same time. I can't do it.! Also have to think of the well being of the rest of my family.Funny, I used to look down on people /families like mine. Now , I am one of them.
