Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
One day at a time!
WOO HOO.
This one day at a time stuff really works...
(Duh, says the Alcoholic/stoner that has been going to AA meetings for 16 months...lol)
I know you live in the heart of pot country, and all your friends are stoners. I know that you can see and understand that clarity is a better choice. You will certainly be able to move forward into a more fulfilling lifestyle. Some of your old friends may drop away, and for sure you'll make new friends too.
Stick with it. It takes tons of patience and persistence. And for sure, accountability is huge.
Thanks for being here, and for being honest.
I know what you mean by "clarity" holly cow do I ever!!! My life is a mess, it's like I've been asleep for a very long time. Keep on trying :)
Must be my higher power. Thank goddess!!
Had a CRAP day and REALLY, REALLY wanted to smoke/drink SOMETHING...but I didn't. Who am I and what I have I done with K????
You can do it otherwise you would of not come back. This indeed is a wonderful group, and you also have your friend to support you!
Wishing you the best,
Sheema
Good luck to all of you as well.
It is great to read about it, as it serves to me to be a reminder about just what a downer of an existence it is to be without the clarity and the energy. Simple things like studying and thinking and feeling, return when off of the weed.
I've been off of it for almost 6 months now. So the honeymoon phase with my regained identity has tapered.
I do not ever want to take for granted the gifts of clarity and focus and energy. After this much time for me, my cravings aren't as obvious. Most often I don't even think about it. Yet, on a more subtle level I can see myself ever so slyly romanticizing again about the old numbing escape hatch and social crutch. Just at times, and just very subtly.
This makes me resolve to not hit the F#ck it switch.
So, again, thank you for sharing and for reminding me about why I am abstaining.
