Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
I've also heard people a few years into sobriety share that it gets easier over time, in general, but that there are still occasional rough times.
I have a different experience, but none the more comforting. I tend to get more energy in general at first, but every time I've tried to quit I experience that depression and negative energy more and more as time goes on. I've relapsed a ton, and never made it beyond 8.5 months. I had those symptoms pretty strongly around 3, 6 and 8 months.
With the help of my new sober community and the introspection and outreach, I'll be breaking my 26 year record in a couple weeks. Yeah, it's gotten tough and am going through a tough time this week, but in general this is the best I've felt in sobriety. I owe that to the more active recovery programs I've joined. So again, huge applauses to you for beginning the work of seeking an addiction counselor.
Lots of time there are no MA meetings that fit my schedule, and so I often have to hit AA meetings. Though booze is not my main thing, I still gain lots of support from those meetings, since it's all the same when it gets down to it.
