Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.
It sounds silly, and sometimes it's hard to do, but I swear you will feel a little better afterwards. I do walks in the morning (10 or 11am) and again in the afternoon (3-4pm). Mix it up, change your route, keep it engaging (or as engaging as it can be) I read you should also avoid full on exercise 6 hours before bed, so heads up on that. And in between exercise? I clean the pad like crazy (never been cleaner :P ) and read up on this situation via the internet. (WISH I had some good books. The computer screen can be a bit annoying occasionally, and since I lost some books and CDs when I was 15, the public library no longer rents to me).
Change your diet to healthy stuff if you can, it seems to help, though at day 11 my appetite hasn't really returned (I can eat, but the thrill is gone). Living on fruits, veggies, nuts, cranberry juice, green tea, and water. Meat hasn't mixed well (no idea why, I love meat, but right now it smells like boot to the face)
Your probably feeling some anxiety. My advice here: make sure your getting your B6, B12, and magnesium. I also read those are important for helping in the anxiousness department (mixed with keeping a positive attitude, it helps). If you want my full regiment, just ask man, happy to pass it along. It's hardly a cure all, but it has helped. Be warned, as your body detoxes it will do crazy things to you. Last night I caught an unwelcome head change, made me a bit anxious, but being aware of what was happening really helped me cope. (Exercise releases natural endorphins, so it does get you a little high, but in a good way. I think eating right helps keep that 'feeling good' going)
As for insomnia, good luck my friend. I was able to sleep like a baby the first week or so, then BAM, insomnia city. If this is, or becomes an issue, I recommend a bed time ritual (sends signals to the body that 'it's time to sleep'.) Again if you want the details of my method, just ask, happy to pass 'em along.
If you need to talk (talking actually helps), I'm on here at least once a day, but usually more.
*Follow up- Day before yesterday I was hit with some mild unexpected depression (Not like out of control, but just 'UGH' dragging style).
Read about this flaxseed stuff, said online that it was great for improving your mood, so I bought it in a ground powder form (for making smoothies, pancakes, ect. It's basically a substitute for stuff. Used it to sub for bread crumbs whilst making meatloaf. YES!! Meat is back on the menu :D )
It seemed to work. Though I admit it was only the first day using it. So maybe it was a fluke, maybe it is just the natural progression my system is going through, BUT I felt soooo much more level.
