Marijuana Addiction & Recovery Support Group
This community is dedicated to those looking to overcome their addiction to marijuana, a drug produced from parts of the cannabis plant. Join the group to find support among people who are also looking to cease their habit of smoking marijuana, share your experience, and get advice. It's not easy to kick the habit, but together we can.

it would be normal to be able to relax and enjoy without pot.
if you can do that you wouldn't get addicted that fast either. because people that use to feel normal are the worst addicts.
if you can handle your partner smoking while you dont, that would be a good start. i hope you will succeed.
To "quit" the person has to want it.....pressuring them will likely backfire.
A couple of Joint of modern weed, high in THC is quite a lot, far in excess of what is necessary to "unwind", at that level you will be effected for the next 24 hours, if you work or drive, you should cut back. This assumes you get high quality "one hit" dope, any time you use weed, always consider that there is a reason they call it "dope", weed ideally should be saved until you have enough time to fully recover before launching back into the world.
Sensitivity to anothers wishes regarding weed is a very important aspect of responsible weed use. Depending on where you live, "outside smoking could be dangerous to your freedom".
Might try pick a room with a powered vent, like a bathroom, only smoke there and take airfreshener with you. There is no such thing as addiction to pot, can't be metabolized like that, but you can become habitated, almost as bad.
People drink beer to have fun sometimes, I feel weed should be looked at in the same light.
Not every night, but on occasion.
Don't rely on it for relaxation, if you do, you won't know how to do it on your own when the green runs dry.
It would be so much easier to let go of it if I lived on a deserted island, but that's not going to happen! I want it bad enough now that I am making it happen. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right time to jump off the merry-go-round.
To some people, it's normal to smoke a couple of bowls or joints in the evening. That's what I did for the past ten years, with a couple of 6-month breaks. And I know hundreds of people who smoke as much or more.
However, most people in this world live their lives without daily use of a relaxing substance.
I wake up in the mornings feeling angry at myself - for smoking. I always say i want to quit, my partner doesnt seem to be bothethered if he smokes or not, but we usually do - its not healthy in a relationship to be using drugs everyday, even it if is a couple or joints - then makes me question our lives, its hard enough with my family not accepting it.
