I'm new here, found out about a year ago did the research then but my eating/weight gaining has been a large goal of mine this summer...

that being said, does our metabolism ever slow down?
My friends look at me in awe when I am able to out eat anyone I know and being 20-30 pounds under weight.

This has always been a mystery for me to understand my 20 yr old's son inability to gain any weight. He can "out" eat all of the rest of us, and still be over 30-40 lbs under weight. He is 6 feet 7 inches tall, and only weighs 134 lbs..the doctors have told me that to be healthy, for his height, he should weigh at minimum 195 lbs..and that he would still be considered very thin at that weight.
It must be the Marfan's Syndrome disease problem..not being able to gain. My son eats like a horse..everything and anything..and seems all of the time..he just can't seem to gain any weight at all. I am 40 lbs over weight, and as his Mom,..I would gladly give him my weight. He has not inherited this syndrome from me, that's for certain. I still worry about him..that's what Mom's do.
