I came to this group, which I do ever now and again, to check in on whats going on. About a year and a half ago, we found out that my husband has azoospermia, which means zero sperm.

I cant offer much hope, because we havent started the process with donor sperm yet (bought, but not tried), but I can offer support and share our story, to couples that are in the begining stages of the pain. Please feel free to add me, because until you hear the words ZERO, you really cant even understand!

Thanks! My DH & I are going to our first RE appt in 19 days. We haven't heard zer0 - but we have heard bad morphology. We simply can't afford IVF (our insurance does not cover any IF treatments, just tests for Dx). With morphology problems, I fear that the only way I will physically have our child will be donor sperm. Haven't even broached this subject with him. He can be moody & emotional (compare him to a woman during her AF at times! lol). How did your Dh react to donor sperm - any advice!

When we first found out that I had PCOS, my husband wasnt for Donor AT ALL...thats because he thought I was the problem...well a year later it came back that both of us were the problem, which took our options away of him having a bio child.....It toook time. I just gave him some time.

THe subject came out again and he told me that whether it was donor or adoption, it wasnt going to be his biologically, but he would love it the same. He told me that he would like it if I experienced the process...so I went online picked out some donors that looked simular to my husband (we talked about that) and came back with 8 donor profiles. THere was one that I wanted, but I didnt say anything. My husband read through them and picked the same one as me. It was as simple as it was ever going to get with that process.....We have yet to do anything with it, but we did by 6 viles...sooo that is where we are :)

Your comment about hearing the word "zero" really struck deep in my heart. My husband recently heard that word. The medication cytoxan left my husband completely infertile. We have one daughter but were not informed that we could never have any more children after my husband took this medication for 6 months. It has left us angry and devastated. Our only choice now is donor sperm....and I just haven't been able to process that yet. I am still grieving everyday.

It takes time to process the whole damn thing. I was telling the RE this last week on the phone. My husband and I spent 3 months talking about a donor, and 9 months sitting here after ordering the vials...We are getting ready to start the process again, which comes with its only processing...lol

I am sorry for your loss...which is what it is.. People dont think about it as a loss, since you cant touch it or hold it, but it hurts just the same!
