Keeping off or going into maintenance took some adjusting as to how much more could I eat and not gain. But I have maintained for almost 11 months...some day I will be able to say years instead of months.
We are blessed and we are strong!
It makes me feel strong.
I started my journey in 2006 at 310 pounds when I finally got it through my thick skull that my weight was keeping me from the thing I wanted most to be a mom So I started to work So I made two basic change ate less calories by couiing the calories I eat in a day and starting moving a little more I walked 1 mile one day a wekk I lost 60 pounds in Six months by simplly using more calories than I take in Well after that due to my fathers illness and I gained half of that back and got back to work again in 2008 but only lost ten pounds and with anohter stressful sitution I couldnt lose anymore So in march of 2009 I got reminded in a big way of why I wanted to lose in the first place and wanted to feel good about myself again so I started back again and this time I wanted to finish what I started and losing by counting calories and exercising and I had to learn something different in order to push past a point I have never been before and to work out something I could do for my whole life so I started learning about healthy eating and exercise and taking things and integrating them into my lifestyle and it just clicked and havent been the same since Im now holding steady at 175-180 and Im loving it and Im so grateful
Your stories like Joyce's really touch me. We are all in the minority keeping it off. ( from what I understand )
It really blesses me to hear them because I forget how much you lost and how you're keeping it off. Stregnth in numbers, I think is real. Thanks for your answers!!!
I couldn't have done it without the support of my Aunt and her encouragement. I truly wanted to change, like we all did. I really believe that helps in the weight loss and the maintenance.
I am proud of you and what you have acomplished! How are you doing now, do you still go to Curves?
