Heat and humidity are more problematic, I find.

Yeah heat can be a pain, especially when you wearing stockings and jeans in 36 degree weather...but living in a hot country all my life, I have nothing to compare too...

But sitting in an air-conditioned office makes little difference I find...

I find that the swelling is worse in the heat and even though I love my compression stockings, I find that they are even more uncomfortable in the heat...cool water helps, I swim a lot and that seems to help!

Heat is definitely a problem but I find humidity to be more of an issue. I don't know why. I can get the swelling down from heat much better than humidity.

I agree. I found that, in Arizona, my legs felt better than here in Maryland where the humidity is so high.

QueenieEJC, I'm in MD and am considering moving to Arizona or Pheonix in a few years, so that's good to know! The humidity has been awful here this summer.

Heat definitely increases swelling, increases pain, I know the humidity in Indiana makes everything hurt more as well.

And here in good old Illinois we have had a horrible couple of weeks with the heat humidity and heat indexes in the 100-115 degree range and layers of bandages it makes it unbearable at times.

Hi Annery I tried to reply to your kind informaiton on the email you sent me and it would not go through, so this is the only way I know how to get ahold of you. If you google lymphedema and diet it will advise you not to eat anything but vegetables, nothing cold no salad dressings and a host of other no no:s, so I am really confused. I live in a small town and the Dr:s here know nothing about this disease, so I rely on the internet a lot and have been googling food etc, and this is what I found,, I really appreciate your reply, and I think I shall go with what you do, if it does not worsen the effects, then whay am I starving myself and not really eating very much,,, Thank you and I hope that with the coming of fall, your lymph eases up a bit Thanks again I so appreciate hearing from you Blessings ALexandrina

I have Lymphedema in both my lower legs, just below the calves, and like everyone else, the heat (especiallly humidity) affectives them negatively. I dread the summer months, because my feet blow up like balloons. It's not too bad the rest of the year, when it's cool, but I hate the heat.

Yes, heat does make the swelling worse.
