It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

Today I watching the 5:00 news out of NY for the tri-state area and I thought I would be enlighted. Instead of hearing about a break new drug or therapy for lymes as they made sound in the prologue. An area in CT or MA is fighting back against lymes by killing the deer. Top of the food chain Ma! We are something else. I feel for those that are suffering and I wish I could fight back as well. Seems very primitive. Maybe we could just bomb the area. Whatever. Just thought I would share some progressive news. Keep your chins up there are some great minds working on the problem. Bless you all.

does not surprise me coming from the same type of Gov that does not want to acknowledge this disease is in enormous #'s now across this country and many others. This really p*sses me off.

It does a upset me too. The number of ill people with it and also the ones who are being misdiagnosed I went through that for almost 15 years. And now the govt is punishing the doctors who want to treat us. And the doctors are so high alot of people can't afford it. It makes me sad.

Killing deer sounds irrational to me. Many animals besides deer can have ticks, such as mice, squirrels, other rodents, and birds.

I think acknowledging that tick-borne illnesses really do exist and putting effort into research and education for the public and medical community would be time better spent.
