Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
I am sorry you are feeling worse. I think some people do feel worse when the weather is cold.
Do you have a thyroid disorder? Being cold a lot can be one symptom.
I think it is a good idea for anyone who has Lyme to have their thyroid checked. I suggest that you have your Free T3, Free T4 (besides the T3 and T4) and thyroid antibodies tested in addition to the normal panel. These are simple blood tests. They are not usually done but are necessary for a comprehensive view.
If you need help interpreting your results, let me know. Some people, including myself, have Lyme disease and a thyroid disorder. It is a double whammy!
I hope you feel better soon.
My body does not regulate temperature very well. I am either freezing (most the time) or HOT.
But I do notice more pain when it rains or any kind of sudden change in pressure.
