Hello! I have just joined this group. This past November I was diagnosed with Rocky mountain spotted fever as well as Lyme. I started treatment right away with my PvP. After the month of high doses of doxycycline I had no improvement and was referred to a Lyme literate doctor who I continue to see. Who then found that I have babesia, M and C pneumoniae, high levels of yeast in my blood stream, and active EBV. We tried 4 different oral antibiotics with bad herxs and little improvement in symptoms. Although I am now resting negative for RMSF which  took four months. After no improvement with oral abx I had a port placed to start Iv abx which i am now on week 8 of hopefully 13. Even with the iv abx i am still in horrible non stop pain and fatigue and have recently started developing neurological symptoms. I honestly feel like I will never fully recover and would like to make peace with the way my life is now; but everyone around me keeps telling me it's going to work and I'll be back to my normal self soon. I know they are only saying it because they care and are not ready to accept what is going on. It just makes it so much harder for me to greive my old life and move on. If you've read this far thank you and would love any advice or suggestions.

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through all of that. To me, it sounds like you've made some progress, but may be pushing the antibiotics a little too far. That's a heavy load, and it's gonna wipe out all gut flora, not just the bad kind. That can lead to a lot of negative imbalances like adrenal depletion (which I've developed) which can lead to some pretty intense mood swings. I definitely understand where you're coming from with the dramatic shifts in your life and feeling like you'll never recover, but I also know that if I were on that same load I'd be pretty sick, as I've gotten very bad herxs from much smaller loads and even introducing new probiotics into the regimen.

Maybe ask about probiotics and other less harsh methods to balance out the full on assault the antibiotics are waging?

Hello Amadge, Welcome to this group. I didn't have a good experience with antibiotics and
was switched to homeopathics and later herbs. I may not have been as ill as you though.
either way, I want to send you well wishes and hope you will obtain some relief for your
symptoms. My prayers are with you. Hang in there.
