Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
you were working with a LLMD, a Lyme Literate doctor when you
were treated with antibiotics for Lyme. It doesn't sound like you
saw a bulls eye rash at that time?
There are different stages of Lyme. There is Chronic Lyme
and late stage Lyme. I'm sure many people on here can attest to
that, myself included. Many people in my support group have it.
I don't know what 'preiniple neurophay is. Perhaps you
meant principle neuropathy. I do know that Lyme can effect
the neurological system. So. Yes, you could develop that.
A good website for information is www.ILADS.org
If you put in your zip code on their site, they send people
the name of Lyme doctors in their area. So, that is a resource
which is available should you wish to go on their website.
I'm not saying it's easy to find these doctors, because
sometimes it's not. But if you were able to, they would be
able to diagnose you and treat you. Take care.
, Not to worry about spelling. Sometimes I
can't even get the words right with spell check. Plus, I don't
know how to use it.
Aside from that. Is it the doctor who treated you for Lyme
who gave you the neuropathy diagnosis?
If he's a good Lyme doctor, he should know that
post Lyme does exist. That would be my impression of
what you're asking about. Have they given you any
treatments yet for the neuropathy and how're you doing
with all of this? Hope you're having an ok day.
all that's going on. Yes. Just ignore some of my questions here.
You have more than your share to deal with. I just want to
send you blessings and good wishes that you'll get the help
which you need. Keep us posted when you're up to it.
I believe that post Lyme or chronic Lyme is real.
I have been on antibiotics for over three years. I have seen some improvement but recovery for me has been really slow. You need a lot of patience with this disease and that is REALLY hard for me most days.
Hang in there.
