Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

doctors. The best way to see how much they cost is to call
their offices and ask. Or maybe they mention it if they have
websites.
The reason they don't participate in insurance is rather
complex. Late stage or chronic Lyme is a controversial disease.
Some doctors refuse to acknowledge that it exists. Many do not
know how to treat it or wish to deal with it. The Center for
Disease control has set up narrow guidelines which govern
the diagnosis and insurance companies.
That's why most LLMDs do not take the insurance. If
you want to get more information, I would suggest watching
the DVD documentary about Lyme, 'Under Our Skin'. It came
out about six years ago and was available on Net Flicks.

can also buy it on Amazon. Some video stores may have it.
Then you will get information about what goes on in
the medical community.

This is an illness where we pretty much have to
educate ourselves about many things.
This isn't always easy to do when you're feeling
louzy and your energy's low. .I hope you're doing 'ok'
for the time being. I hope some of this may be of

What good news to hear you got an appointment this
week. Funny how that works. I hope it goes well.
Unfortunately, I do not have the results of my Igenex
tests in front of me. They were done in 2005 and I may get them
from my doctor's office to see what they say. The one I do have,
Lyme Dot-Blot Assay came back negative. Maybe someone
else on here will be able to share with what you have listed.

off and on. Currently, I'm taking Candistat which is over the
counter. For me, following the diet is the big part of it.
Not always easy to do, though I eat very healthy. I also take
