Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
I've had lyme for 3 years, moved from MD to FL 2 months ago. Was being treated by doc in MD and had good results for a long time with Amoxicillin. My doc decided to change meds because I was having some brain fog....I kept taking Amoxicillin until ran out then started his new rxs Biaxin and Bactrim together two weeks ago.
I feel horrible, I have awful brain fog and just started a new job, constant headache and very depressed, tired and just don't want to move.
I have make an appointment with a local Primary doc (next week) to see if she will give me Amoxicillin, have been online and 'ordered' from HealthWarehouse.com but then read reviews of them (it may be a scam) and called to cancel it.
I'm desperate, need Amoxicillin, doc in MD wont give rx unless I see him. I live in Sarasota, have had 'referrals' from Turn the Corner but seem like quacks to me, I hate to say it but I need an actual doctor...
Any help appreciated.

I will say that, although Biaxin seemed to help my daughter, she became severely depressed while on it. It's hard to say what caused what, but her depression improved once she stopped taking the Biaxin.
You could try posting on lymenet for a LLMD in your area, and/or MdJunction. Keep us posted....

You've been under extreme stress. A big move out of state, and a new job would be a huge hit to the healthiest persons immune system. I'm not surprised that you feel horrible. You've essentially lost your doctor and maybe alot of other supports you had back in Maryland.
I don't know what your situation is, but if you don't HAVE to work, don't work now. If it were me I'd definitely travel back to MD at least to see your old doctor. If you must live in FL try to negotiate with your old doctor that you will see him every 6 months and he gives you 6 mos of meds to hold you between appointments.
If you haven't tried low dose Naltrexone yet then I'd strongly advise you that you should give that a 1 month trial to see if it helps you.
I'd also be interested to know what it was about the FL docs that made them seem like quacks to you.
I would consider going to MD twice a year but to be honest, my doc there was good but he's not a young guy, I need to get care here eventually.
