Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
I know ...Im still learning so much on how it is widely not recognized, it's sad that people are buying their antibiotics illegally and taking in their own hands. Its scary.
I feel for you too. You have sure had your share of this
illness (yet undiagnosed) and I too hope you get some good
care. It is truly apaulling how the mainstream medical system
denies and ignores this illness. It isn't any different in some
parts of the U.S. than you describe in Australia. .
Having said that. Yes. Working with someone who has
treated the illness, preferably a LLMD Lyme Literate doctor is
most important.
I too am diagnosed with CFS. You may wish to
watch the DVD 'Under Our Skin' if you haven't already seen
it. I also tell people to read the Stephen Buhner book,
Healing Lyme with Herbs. Because it shows that there are
other ways to treat the illness rather than just antibiotics.
It is a complex illness, but it's worth educating
ourselves about, especially if you have it. And I'm not
a doctor, for sure, but my money would be on, 'yes' you
have it.
In the meantime
, It wouldn't hurt to eliminate sugar, sodas, caffeine,
processed foods from your diet if you do eat these things,
because they can aggravate the Lyme.
some pains are gone..still bad lower back from discs.c.f.s is alive and well
just had nearly 8 hours sleep and feel like a train wreck

for answers. I'm sorry that you haven't come across a knowledgeable Lyme doctor. I know
when I was in my 40's I would have flare ups of my sciatic nerve. I would have to spend long
times in bed alternated with chiropractic visits. Eventually, I had surgery on the lower disc. It
had completely ruptured. Now, some 30 years later, I have a lot of decline in hearing in my
left ear. There may or may not both be related to Lyme. I really don't know. I continue to
treat myself and am up and about most days. Doing well as I can.
I wish you well on your tests and hang in there. I hope they find somethings which
will relieve your symptoms.
