Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
hello wonderful people
i was bit by a tick and diagnosed by site of the ringed bite about a year ago. I thought since I was treated with antibiotics right away it wouldn't be an issue. Blood test at that time came back negative. I went to a naturopath after feeling some joint pain some months later who tested me and found that I had in fact built the antibodies for Lyme though my infection wasn't active. I have been taking cats claw and enzymes on and off since then due to my own confusion about my symptoms and underlying issues. Very recently I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia (I also have hashimotos which I've had for over 10 years). Ive been having fatigue, feeling very heavy, weak, numbness and tingling, headaches, anxiety, lung and chest sensations that are worrying, and I feel crazy. I've denied truly that I have Lyme. I'm confused by my symptoms especially when other things are with it like anemia. I have struggled with maintaining health balance for so long in my life already and have been back in school to be a health care practitioner. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has had anemia or other nutrient deficiencies with Lyme, or autoimmune illnesses. The confusion that comes from multi symptoms is hard to deal with. Having a hard time facing this squarely without having a total emotional breakdown. Thank you for your comments
