Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

write to the paper. I'm a little confused. Are all these
articles written by one person? And is he or the paper up
for a Pulitzer prize? Where would a person write to for that?
Either way, it's encouraging to see that this illness has
received so much coverage by the paper. I will definitely
write to them and thank them.
In August 2012, New York states Poughkeepsie Journal began an on-going series of articles about Lyme disease called No Small Thing, by investigative journalist Mary Beth Pfeiffer. It is the most comprehensive treatment of the subject ever undertaken by a newspaper.

directly saying how glad I was to see the articles.
It would definitely be nice if the paper got recognition
for this by the prize but either way, I'm glad I saw
the coverage the paper has given to this topic.
