Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
this is just kind of me venting. Last week I was diagnosed with co infection Bartonella. I decided to go to a Lyme specialist because all my symptoms were becoming very bad again. (I have almost every symptom that exists) so I went back and I am starting holistic medicine first and then I may be adding on antibiotics. But the antibiotics can kill some of the good cells and bacteria and ultimately make me weaker which is not good at all. I just started a new job and I really can't afford to quit or be fired. My doctor believes I may need antibiotics but wants to try everything else first to try and keep me as strong as possible. I am super overwhelmed. I've been dealing with chronic Lyme for almost 10 years and I'm not even 21 yet. I also developed Fibromyalgia from the Lyme. I just needed to say all this in an environment where I know I won't be judged. Thanks.

I feel very fortunate to be on DS just to know that what I
feel is 'not just in my head or my imagination', That these are
very real symptoms and issues that we are facing. They can
come and go and be very daunting to 'pin down'.
I'm glad to know that you have a doctor who you're working
with who seems to have treatments available for you to try
besides antibiotics.
Being judged is the last thing any of us need. Good
