Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
100 mg of Doxy daily is not strong enough for Lyme. I believe the recommended dose is 300-600 mg daily. I really do not know if it would be wise for you to take it.
Are you planning on seeing a Lyme knowledgeable doctor? In my opinion, this is the most important thing you can do. Have you been tested for the co-inefctions?
I don't know that we have any Lyme knowledgeable doctors anywhere near Idaho! I haven't been tested for co-infections.
Did you try contacting the Idaho Lyme support groups?
