I didn't have the IV but a lot of people here have. My doctor really wanted to do it but my insurance wouldn't cover it. Its my next step if I'm not showing enough progress by my next appointment, though. My understanding is that it's the best way to get all the medicine into your body where it can use it to fight the bacteria. I think it might be your best bet at this point!!! Go for it!

I did IV for 30 days. My doc recommended 60-90 but I had to go with what was covered by insurance. I am not where I want to be with my symptoms. But I feel significantly better. My fatigue and pain have lessened in severity making my daily life easier. I even noticed an improvement in my cognitive issues. I still have problems in all these areas, but like I said, it's not as bad as it was. I felt NOTHING with oral antibiotics alone. Given that I had improvement with the 30 days of treatment, I really wish I could've had the 60-90 day treatment.

Everyone is different and no one is going to respond the same to treatment.

I did 6 weeks, and it helped me tremendously. I was very anxious about doing it, but am so glad I did. I may have to do it again, but I would do it w/o any hesitation. It really moved me along in my treatment, knocked down the Lyme and let the co-infections show so we could treat them. Worth it!

I agree laurel. It was well worth it. I may have to do again also. I have absolutely no hesitation. Sucks to have to have the line put in again, but that's the least of my worries.

I have had a port in my chest and the IV meds have helped me more than the oral or the shots.
I can see and feel and improvement. I had two picc lines but they did not work well for me.
In my opinion the med a port is the way to go.
