Sorry that you feel so bad. Are you on the eastern side of PA? I'm located in NJ and have an amazing llmd that has a lot of open availability. Today I was finally diagnosed after 10 years of wasting my money at nuerologists.

Hello artsystteph, Welcome to this site and thank you for your
post. I'm glad you're seeking out an LLMD. Just like regular
doctors, not all Lyme doctors are created equal. Just like people
right? There are some better than others. I had to wait several
months to see mine. Then, there were long waits in the waiting
room. He did however diagnose me and treat me in a good way.
Some people I know had great results with him, others not so
good. This illness is very individualistic.
I know the waiting time is most difficult. You can always
ask to be called if someone cancels. It's worth a try.
Also,Dand7 has put up a good post. Whatever way you
go, just hang in there. You have much better chances of
getting better now. If things go well, you may receive some
needed treatment that will help you. If you feel this new
doctor is not right for you, trust your intuitions.
Meanwhile, I hope you're following a good diet and
getting good rest if possible. Keep us posted if you would.

I too finally found a LLMD but I grew suspicious when they required a $100 non-refundable deposit to schedule an appointment. I went ahead and scheduled, but later decided to check his legal record with the state courts. Found out this particular doctor was in court many times over the last few years with bankruptcy, tax evasion, repossessions, etc. as well as being disciplined by the medical field and even banned in another state. I lost my $100.

I am a bit discouraged with many of the LLMD in that they give a list of 50 symptoms and if you have any of them you probably have Lymes. They include things like "do you ever forget a word?" or "do you feel tired around 2:00pm?". I really don't think anyone over 45 doesn't do those things some times. It seems that some of them are just going to diagnose Lymes no matter what.

With that said, don't give up and keep searching for a good doctor that actually understands Lymes and other diseases. Sometimes you have to weed through a few. Hope you do well.

Dand7 I am in NJ too and was wondering who your LLMD is. I have one that I am using but I'm not 100% confident.

I've gone to multiple LLMD's and often times they only offer a dietary plan and various vitamins. If you go over to shinealightonlyme.com they offer multiple treatments within their treatment program and a nutritional guide that helps you feel better and even get back to work and a relatively normal life.

My mom gave me lyme disease at birth so I always was sick and went in and out of the hospital as long as I could remember. but I was fortunate enough to travel all around the country and many overseas doing hyperthermia, stem cells, apheresis, too many abx and over 2000 IVs. Unfortunately, none of the treatments and therapies were helpful to me, at least for a long run. In fact, it led me a debilitating brain and spine inflammation and crazy pain and burning sensation with severe mast cell disorder where I was extremely reactive to EVERYTHING and frequency of vomiting was quite norm daily :( But few people have informed about this lyme practitioner who sees people all around the country via skype and face-to-face (but not so much as she has a waiting list) so to make the story short, I had my first skype consult with her 27 months ago. The battle was pretty intense with barely no improvement but I was noticing pretty significant improvement that I was not able to see. I had enough energy to be more aggressive and grouchy as per my dad, my liquid diet was slowly changing to add more food into my diet, and I was up more instead of sleeping 18 hours a day. She has made me this unbelievable herbal protocol that are from Russia and Korea. And she has started me on this amazing injection called immuno-maf and glymino gcmaf cream. It was tough to get adjusted to but once it settled to adopt these ingredients into my body, it was showing me great acceleration of healing. I am forever debt to this practitioner and our whole family cannot live without her. Yes pls do your research and consider these immuno-maf and glymino transdermal products. It is definitely worthy of trying these. xx

There is Dr. McShane in Plattsbrug or Dr. Patell in NYC, both very pricey. though. IF you can get to Texus I know the best Lyme doctor but don't want to post his name as the LLMD get harassed by their association. both very expensive and why not just go to your family doctor and get 100 mg doxycycline BID, for 13 months and just get better and save $$
remember if you do this cheap and cheerful protocol you can not take any mineral supplements as they do bind to antibiotic and you won't get better permanently. Of course, no dairy within 4 hours of you dose
BTW it is very common to pass Lyme disease on to your child, I did as well because back in the 80's they called Lyme chronic fatigue and I only got 3 month of doxycycline so it did not kill all of the bacteria.
FYI you may also. need the occasional difulgan for the yeast one pill once a month
