Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
So sorry to see you go. I read your journal about your insurance changing and saw that you are feeling really horrible. I'm sorry. So many on this site are so young and have a questionable future ahead because of health reasons.
As far as I can tell my insurance will only pay after the first 10,000 - 11,000 out of network and then 80% after that. We changed to high deductible ins in May after a very slow winter being self employed in construction. We had ins that would have covered tons more but now I'm hoping that we can get better ins next year.
Fibro/chronic fatigue and Lyme are all such political issues that doctors don't want to deal with. It's hard for us to deal with them when we are sick. I think when we get well we will be so glad that we'll forget all about it. We will just want to live a normal life.
I have felt poorly for the last 25 years. My life would be drastically different if I were well. My kids really don't know what it would be like to have a well mom who could do what other moms do. I still have hope that my situation can change and that I can be a wife, mom, gramma and friend.
In the past I have tried different supplements. Some have really helped me get a life back (temporarily) and others don't seem to do anything. I'm thinking of trying some of the newer supplements - maybe Monavie. It may give me the boost I need to survive untill I get better insurance.
I'll pray for you to find a way to get the care you need.
