Hello, I'm new around here. I've had Lyme for literal decades, undiagnosed until five years ago. I went through intensive abx treatment for most of the past five years, and after having had some successes but mostly continued misery, I made the decision to stop taking almost all my meds, and I put my life in God's hands. The pain is still horrific, but honestly, it is less than when I was taking treatment. My pain has increased my depression, and my depression has added to the mental/memory/processing issues so that I cannot make decisions or accomplish anything significant in a day's time. My current predicament is that I may need to go back into treatment but our finances are so limited without me working that we cannot afford for me to return to treatment. Insurance doesn't cover much, let alone Lyme treatment. I decided to join this group so that maybe I can get my depression under control, having someone to talk to, and start a domino effect that lessens my pain and helps me find the joy in life once again, despite it all. that you hadn't met with success over the last 5 yrs. with the abx.
I recently ordered a book (used) off of amazon.
"The Lyme Disease Survival Guide" by Connie Strasheim.
She relates her own experiences in a real and at the same
time often uplifting way. She talks of various treatments
she's done. Her other book "Insights into Lyme Disease
Treatment" is an excellent resource. She interviews 13
doctors who talk about Lyme and their protocols, treatments.
I know this is just a small part here, but I hope it's of
some help to you. Dealing with the finances seems to be
ongoing with this illness and it's treatments. But hang in
there and I do hope you'll find some relief for the depression
and keep us posted if you would. best wishes.
