Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
Last night I watched a brilliant documentary called Wolf Within, it is the story of N'Deaye Ba (well known in Britain as an actress) and filmed by herself and her mother Christina. N'Deaye was diagnosed with SLE and the documentary was made to show what Lupus is and does.
I would recommend this be watched by all people touched by Lupus, it would be particularly valuable to be viewed by those who either don't understand or underplay the effects of this disease.
It is beautifully made, but very confronting, I would not recommend it to those who are particularly emotionally fragile or those who lack maturity (15+ would be ok).

I think the name of the movie is actually The Wolf Inside. I have tried to find a link to the documentary to watch it but Im not having any luck. Very sad that such a young woman passed away........

Thank you for sharing, I have not gotten to the video yet, but I have read the bio and several stories of N'Deaye Ba, what a heart breaking story. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes, as a person with lupus, her story has truly hit too close to home has it not? It also makes me think although I have many bad days, I am blessed because I was diagnosed and started on meds before any organ damage was done unlike N'Deaye.
Thanks again. For anyone who has had the chance, please take a moment to read the N'Deaye Ba story, it is very moving and does make one stop and think about what is important in life and just how many blessings we do have!
