Hi Coralie,I find it interesting that your doc. said you didn't have fm. I thought we all had both,fm. is mussel pain,arthritis is joint and since I have both I really do not know what lupus pain is and what is from something else,as far as what to expect I don't know the answer to that either since I keep having to change meds. due to allergic reactions,I can say when I was on methotrexate I was starting to feel good the 3 days a week I wasn't sick,I am in week 6 of enbrel so still waiting for some relief,I went for over 30 years being told it was all in my head so I think it is very common for us to suffer for far to long,I hope you will start feeling better very soon,Cindy

Everyone has individual reactions and symptoms that's what makes it so hard to diagnosis. Some people have more than one diagnosis. Good luck on your journey to find answers and relief from pain.

That was exactly what happened to me! I was misdiagnosis for 5 years! No treatments for fibro worked. It didn't do a thing for my pain. I am on Plaqunil for over a year now. My pain has decreased to about 50% of what it was. I was angry for a long time but I know now, I have a doctor who listens and understands and that lupus is a hard disease to diagnosis, as no 2 cases are the same. Hugs!

I had been hurting for such a long time I guess I thought that was normal, it wasn't until I was 3 weeks in to taking Placquenil and the over all pain started to ease that I realized that I wasn't really supposed to feel that way ...for me overall pain is down probably 75% but joint pain is still a problem and I could probably ease most of that but I don't tolerate anti inflammatories very well at all pffftttt

I am dying because doctors are trained to see people with multiple symptoms in multiple organ systems as a hypochondriac. My mom died at 49 for the same reason. I was told I was terminal at 47. I may have died from this anyway ,pulmonary fibrosis a rare result of autoimmune disease, but had the inflammation been controlled it might not have reared it's ugly head til I was 60 or 70 or maybe not at all. Lots of ifs. My mom was dx with fm autoimmune didn't test positive until a few months before her death. I did not have the proper pain points so they did not think I had fm. I had so many legit things long list over 30 surgeries heart attack with stinting at 37 a PE etc. point is,surgeons always knew there was problems but they did not know why the doctors that Dx thought I was mental. Can't go back stress makes me sicker so I have to try I would like to change the doctors training and thoughts but maybe after I am better. Take care get better.

I as well went through yrs believing it was just fibro, remember fibro and lupus go hand n hand im sure you most prob have both as many of us do. I was diagnosed with luous approx 5 yrs ago when i started having many new symptoms such as the rashes bad bad oozin itching rashes esp head and face where all my hair fell out, stress makes it worse! Tired, hurt all over, fever blisters, headaches, mood swings, depression, low immune. To list a few. Meds help with flare ups, i really dont take any narcs for pain the only thing i tKe is 800 mg of ibu and it does help but not completly. We just learn to live with it and keep in touch with our lupus family for aupport. That i believe helps the most for we all understand and care! Hang in there always here for you xoxo
