So I get sores in my nose,just got over a bad spell,I don't get sores in my mouth but I get them on my tongue,my tongue is either yellow or white with red bumps that really hurt,in the past I have showed my doc.but he was unconcerned so I don't even bring it up anymore,has anyone else had this problem?how do you treat it?Cindy

yeh that is the herpe virus---i am in the middle of the same thing right now---mouth sores and nose sores---stay away from caffine and sugar and chocolate and stress. increase your water intake and rest.
it has been two weeks---

Thanks Awesome,I keep thinking it is thrush which I believe is yeast but I can't get help from the doc.as I already said,but caffine,sugar and chocolate are my favorite things but you are right this sucks so I will give it a try,Cindy

Have you ever tried Magic Mouthwash? You need a prescription. It has lidocaine, maalox and something else, but it works great. Ask you dr. about it. Hope you will feel better.....

my experience is that these are from the meds ... methotrexate in particular, but only IF I forget to take my folic acid the rest of the week, I will have sores on my tongue. otherwise i am fine. : )

Are you on prednisone? The minute I went on prednisone the sores stopped. I'm not suggesting that this is a reason to go on a drug you might not otherwise require, but since mine all went away, I figured it was all part of Lovely Lupus manifesting itself in yet another creatve way. I'd ask my MD if the meds they put on teething babies might help.

there is something similar that happens like you are describing,when you are vitamin deficient too. It doesn't look anything like the mouth or nasal ulcers,but the sides of your tongue are raw and sore...maybe next time you go to doc,ask him to add it to your labs..especially check the b vitamins.

Mouth sores, nose sores and even vaginal sores are fairly common in lupus patients. It's not normally herpes if you have Lupus (it is the dx alot of dr's jump to if you don't have a clear diagnosis). Ask your rheumatologist to take a look at it. I

I would love to know what to do about the nose sores.....seemslike mine never go away...it is NOT the Herpes virus. my nose bleeds several times a day from them. any suggestions???
Tazesmom, i do not know if it will work on the tounge but long time ago my DR gave a type of gritty cream to use on my cheeks..worked great maybe ask him/her if they are familier with it.
