Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I used to lounge on all the beaches in Florida,
as a young adult, throwing caution to the wind.
no can do!
I now live in the desert..you absolutely, not only take the neccessary precautions,sunscreen,etc..but limit your time in the sun ,period. I even use an umbrella now.
but,it;s not just the UV from the sun,but the heat as well..so please be careful, and try and stay cool, and shaded..best wishes, edie
yeah..I love that electric bill in the summers too:)
Do you take Vitamin D? I take caltrate +D twice a day and just took 12 Vitamin D tablets over the last 12 week. Mine was pretty low in January when I had a physical.
Maybe you and your hubby could have a "romantic in-door picnic" and pretend you're outside....wish I had some better ideas.
I do have a sunporch on my house and I sit out there quite a bit and read. I only get late afternoon sun so its pleasant most of the day. I had to have a room a/c installed last summer and it helped a lot.
Maybe if you got out just about sunset with a hat and sunscreen at least you would be getting some fresh air.
I hope you will feel better soon and enjoy the rest of the week-end. I'll be thinking of you.
Hugs.....Virginia
