Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
A ha... Yes I do... Drives me nuts.. Happens every night at 2 am and last till 4.30 am, mainly my legs but has lately moved to my arms. Have suffered for a decade plus....There is a support group on DS, pretty quite board though...
I usually get up, walk around and wiggle arms etc to not much avail.
Did try a Parkinson's disease medication called, Akineton (biperiden 2mg) sort of helped, though had to stop due to side effect issues. It supposedly helps with RLS probably off label though.
Started a neuropathic pain drug called Gabapentin for neuropathy and yaaay for some reason the RLS has stopped... it has been bliss for the last 5 weeks...
Hope you can find some answers and relief.... know how distressing it can be... Best wishes S
