Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

I was told by endocrinologist that I should get off it. On only 5 mg. and that it was OK. She says, no, it can cause your adrenals to stop working and cortisol levels to get stuck. Oh Joy!
I'm guessing when I see the rheumy about this she'll either say to stick with it or to get off.
Either way it will be hard. I have had a lot of weight gain with this and another med.
Can your doc work with you on going off slowly. Alternatives for pain should be considered, don't ya think?
