Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

I was on prednisone for about a yr. The medicine didnt work on me, I was nervous and griped and a bitch.
I gained up to over 200lbs.
I call prednisone the medicine from hell.
So I talked to my doctor and he took me off it. After about a month the symptoms were gone.
Hun, you need to talk to your doctor, Everyone can write what they went thru, but you need to tell the doctor. Im glad you were able to tell how YOU feel.
My prayers are with you
Big Hugs to you

Yes...the fact that you were on anti-depressants at the time could be why the pred. didnt affect you emotionally the same as this time. How long have you been on it? You should be feeling a bit better from it. It works so quickly most of the time. I would call the dr. just to let them know that your not feeling any better on the pred. Whatever you do, dont just stop taking it (it can kill you), and know that you have to taper off it slowly. Doing it too quickly can cause serious side effects (and psychosis)
red.....Just so you know, I went into a pred. psychosis when I tapered too much pred. at one time. This can be a side effect. It may be rare to have pred. psychosis just from taking a normal dose of pred. but when tapering, it can be more common.
Hang in there.
