Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
I'm so looking forward to hearing from anyone who has any thoughts or comments on this or maybe has experience with this type of thing.
My main issue with Lupus is vasculitis & over the the yrs my rheumy has an extremely difficult time to get this facet of lupus shut down & under control. I'm in a period now where it's constantly there, sometimes fads for a day or two then is in action again. It's been going on like this really for yrs. I go thru some extended periods of fair control but it's always not far away.
Here's where I really need advice. Right now every single evening I start to break out & lately it's all around the mid section of the body front & back. Usually my legs & arms are where it occurs. I'm experiencing pain areas. Sometimes it feels like it bounces around. Alot of times I sit there thinking OK major acid reflux going on. It always starts abt an hr after eating supper but then why would it only be after my evening meal. If I had some digestive issue going on inside somewhere would I not experience stuff throughout the day also. Sometimes it feels like gall bladder pain but I don't have a gall bladder as of May. Whats really weird is when I wake up the next morning my whole mid section is pretty much clear.
I've never ever had any type of pain issues with vasculitis & for all I know maybe it can be quite common.
I don't see my rheumy for a couple months but shd I maybe think of checking in with him?

I cannot speak as far as vasculitits, but as far gallbladder or reflux I have more experience than I wish. I had my gallbladder out in 1998, but from what I understand even after your gallbladder is out you can still get what feels like gallbladder attacks and endure the pain. Still to this day I have times when I have immense pain in my right side and end up in the fetal position. The doctors have never figured it out. I have major reflux am on med to keep my food down, but nothing helps. And as far as a rash that follows your pain I'm not familiar with that. I have had rashes on my torso that looks like lace, It's called livedo reticularis. Not sure what type of rash you're experiencing. Lupus has really hit my GI tract hard, you may be experiencing the same.
