I have not been dx yet with Lupus but it is being looked at by neuro.
We are having a heat wave here in Melbounre, today we have reached 44'c which I think is about 115f. I havent been outside but my face is red as a lobster & was the same yesterday. It feels like it is burning from the inside. My arms were the same yesterday, very red even though I was inside (arms were the same yesterday). Its not sunburn as I havent been outside at all today.
The face does not look like the butterfly rash but is very red all over the cheeks & so painful. My knees & ankle joints are red & swollen & my wrists hurt too, the wrists arent red.
Does this sound like lupus symptoms? I am at a loss to know what else to do, moisturiser does nothing except make me redder.

What I am asking is has anyone got any idea of creams or anything else I can do to ease the burning pain? I have taken antihistamine, panadeine forte, & used cortisone cream & dont know what else to do. Cold flannel helps for a few minutes but then it stings even worse. I dont want to go to hospital as they are stretched beyond due to heat & bushfires near by.
I dont know if this is lupus like or not but hope that one of you may have some ideas to help me please.
I have honestly never heard of a lupus reaction like the one you are decribing. Your reaction, however, does scare me and I am wondering if you should go to an ER. It sound more like an allergic reaction, but the antihystamine should have brought it down some. Are you running a fever and if you are how high?
I am VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AND THINK YOU SHOULD GO TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY.
