Ok so i went to Rheumy wed. and she wants to start the simponi injections. Just waiting on insurance to approve. Going to give it a try because she says i can get off predisone if i start them. Just once a month so we will see. Also she told me i needed to go back to my gastro because my liver enzymes are still way up! So went to him today and after relooking at all my results from liver biopsy and blood work he has decided i now have autoimmune hepatitis. Does anyone else have this? Started me on imuran 50 mg and have to go back in a month for blood work. He says this will help to get me off predisone too! And get this he had never heard of simponi. Real reassuring. NOT! I think they just use us for guinea pigs! Hope everyone else is doing good and your new year has started out well! Have a wonderful weekend!

I have heard of Simponi on t.v. It is for RA, so they say and is an injection once a month. I am seeing my Rheumy in 4 weeks and will ask him about that. Sure would be great to get off of the Prednisone! Of course being an injection, the liver will get a break! Let us know how it turns out!

As for the hepatitis....Im sorry that you have been diagnosed with that. Its so common for us to develope other issues over the years. Hopefully they caught it quickly though and will be able to treat it. The liver is one organ that can reverse damadge so I will keep my fingers crossed that your liver will be ok. Prayers for your organ :)
