MS contin for chronic pain

recently my doc prescribed this, 15 slow release mg , 1 in am and 1 in pm. not sure yet if its helping. makes me groggy, foggy and I do not like that . Is anyone else taking this drug for pain regularly? thank you Mary

I'm on a morphine pump so I know what it's like. You will get used to it and stop feeling groggy and foggy. It just takes a little time. Is it helping your pain? It's important that you take the med on schedule and not as needed.

It's pretty commonly used on cancer patients, but is gaining use in the rheumy community. I hope it helps you. I know how much better it feels when you're NOT in pain!

Yes mary I take ms contin 30 mg in am and pm. The drowsiness will go away after awhile so just hang in there. If its not helping the pain much they may want to increase it or give you something for breakthrough pain. hugs marilyn
