I was researching on this medication for you. This med is used to control pain, and decrease swelling and inflammation. usually used for osteoarthritis.
You usually take it every 12 hrs at the same time.
You need to watch for side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or gas. these are common and usually go away.
Watch for yellowing of eyes or skin, tongue/ throat swelling= STOP MEDICATION and call your doctor.
this is a really new medication, so you know, they still learning for new side effects. Usually they are mild or go away.

I've never heard of it until now, but from I read, it sounds interesting. It's a "medical food" instead of a drug, made of flavonoids (which come from fruits and vegetables) and is supposed to reduce pain and inflammation without the side effects of NSAIDs.

Yeah, "medical food" is a term I've never heard either, but it sounds like it's just something that's made from food sources, like a supplement, but it's used for specific medical purposes and requires a prescription.

I'll be really interested to know how it works for you. I have a rheum. appointment coming up in a month or so and may want to ask about it since it sounds like it may be safer than NSAIDs.

My Physiatrist gave it to me to help with pain of arthritis. Every time I took it I started to flush and sweat. Then I got stomach pain which was mostly gas. It also tended to make me sleepy. That may be because I did not sleep well at night.
I know it is a medical food that works like a nsaid. I am cocerned that a "natural food" that contains chemicals similar to drugs will have the same side effects. In addition they usually turn out not to be closely controled as drugs. I am going to wait on this.
In the meanwhile I am controling the pain in my knee and finger with Volteran gel. This is a nsaid that works transdermally so little if any get into the blood stream. It works in about 5-10 minutes for osteoarthritis.
