Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
Yes, without a doubt, it is lupus. I have had the same terrible leg pain for about 6 yrs now. At first rheumy says, none of his other lupus patients complained about it and put me through these nerve conductivity tests which were horrible and they were fine. If they hadn't been okay, there wasn't much they could do, so I should not have allowed them to do it, but my legs hurt so bad, I could not walk at all for a few months. My knees and feet and hips all hurt very badly too. Most days I cannot do much at all because of my legs hurting and you are right, the more you are on them, the worse it gets.
I hosted a lupus support group in my local area for 2 yrs. At one of our meetings, I had to ask about this leg pain. There were 23 of us in the group, all women except one male and every one of us said the same thing. Our legs hurt badly. That's why I am sure it is lupus related, but don't know why.
I feel badly for you because it is so painful and I know exactly how you feel.
yes i can remeber when i was first told i had lupus, it was a really hard frist two years. it has now been seven. i was put on a great deal of predisone due to lupus nerphritus, well that can cause AVN. pain is a constant thing with lupus. good luck and just keep in mind that you can always find another dr if you are not happy.
i hope you feel better soon!! :-)
To help with my hip pain at night, I sleep with a pillow between my legs to keep my hips aligned. It helps some. I usually wake up at some point and have to turn to the otherside to alleviate the pain that comes on during the night in one hip and leg. I think of myself as a pancake ... okay, this side is done, time to flip me over.
I also get the shoulder pain from my rotator cuff. For that, I prop a pillow against my stomach and put my arm on it. It helps keep it level with my shoulder and lessens the pain.
Hilly? What is AVN pain?
peace and love ... Kyle Anne
