what's up taze?I've had kidney issues since I was 4 years old..down with one now..I let things go too far sometimes,especially
when pain overlaps,and not quite sure where it may be originating from..and then bam!!
there it is..and you know good and well..

thank you so much Iris and Edie,I have been sick a very long time and started with being diagnosed about four year ago,until I found this group I was pretty much very uninformed,doctors really don't spend the time we need,you all have helped me so much,Cindy

may i ask?
when you say that they are not good.do you mean the overall kidney functuin test,or some failure or possibly lupus nephritis?
just wondering...cause it can be so many things!grrr..it'd frustrating,i know..
i have lots of issues with nephritis,and have had some failure before,and nasty episodes of pylo..(kidney infection,nt bladder)whatever it is,I hope you are much better soon..i'm in the middle of one,that's kicking my rear..best wishes,edie

EDye,I think it is complete kidney function,but I am not sure,he did a sed. rate test this time instead of a basic urinalysis,everything that is not normal when I read about it it says it is a sign of kidney failure,however my creatinine level in my blood is fine,I see my g.p. doc today so hopefully he can explain,I'm sorry you are dealing with something so frightening,Cindy

went to the doc today,he does not think my kidney problems are from lupus,he said my lab work is more an indication of cancer but they checked me last May and all was good but my labs are getting worse,so he is going to call my Rhumie and kidney doc and I go back thursday,more waiting,thanks everyone for your support it really means alot to me,Cindy

My kidneys hurt a lot off and on too.Last week only one side was hurting but pretty bad.The next day that side of my abdomin from the bottom of my ribs to my hip bone was very numb and is still that way. I dont know if it is related to my kidney hurting or if it is from the sezures i was haveing a few weeks ago.Seems every few days its something new. Kidney failure is one of the things i really worry about.This is all bad enough without having to go for dialisis too. I hope yours gets better and its not anything too serious.
By the way, this is my first post here, i have been reading for a good while here but havnt posted. Seems i am the only male here.

Welcome Kituwa,sorry you have the need for a sight like this along with the rest of us,there are other men that post here but I think we ladies are a bit more vocal,I myself just joined a couple months ago,like you I just read alot for along time but never posted now you can't shut me up.I get great comfort here,it is so nice chatting with people who really understand,and I have gotten a lot of great info,I hope you enjoy everyone as much as I have,CIndy

Thank you Cindy.And yes this site has been a great comfort to me.The doctors have been less than helpful in any way. My GP was the one that suspected i had lupus. She did my first ANA and it came back positive.The second time it came back positive for shogrins.She then sent me to a rummy doc who did an ANA that came bace negative but this after my GP had givin me a shot of prednizone followed with a c-pack of it.I explained to the rummy my symptoms and he blew them all off even going so far as saying that most were not symptoms of lupus but i have most if not all of the same things people here speak of. My hands are so swollen when i wake in the morning i cant grip a coffee cup,my wrists,elbos,shoulders ,knees and hips hurt.I get a rash on the roof of my mouth.My skin constantly peals behind my ears, my nose and forhead.My skin itches especially after being in the sun.I get these hot flashes that feel like my blood is boiling and then i get the chills.I get so tired that its painfull to think of doing anything.I have mini seziers that feel like an electric shock that go from my head to my hand and feel like if tit lasted for more than a split second that i will hit the floor,these happen every few seconds all day at times.I get vertigo that is so bad i cant walk without holding on to something and it makes me nausiated.I get confused and forgetfull.My doc put me on plaquenil about a month ago but it doesnt help any yet.My rummy says that when the steroids help like they did me when i took them that the plaquenil is what they give us and they never give steroids except for temporary witch is not true.He basically let me think all this is all in my head but told me i should get a second oppinion.Anyway, i start seeing a new Gp next week and i am hopeing she will put me on prednisone.The thought of this being how i will feel from now on is frightining.In fact,,i really do not wish to live like this if it will not get any better.I cant leave the house sometimes for weeks, cant do much outside.I feel like im in house arrest.My family goes on with life and i feel left behind.This is truly an awfull disease.

I have no idea what this means, clinically. I do know that any one or twelve tests don't have an enormous effect on their own. Please keep us posted. We are ALL WITH WITH YOU. xoxo
