Hi all,

The hair loss seems to come and go, but I've had mild scalp itchiness for a year.

I've tried various no-poo, sulfate-free and organic options. I also have an oily scalp and dry, thick, coarse hair. Any suggestions?

Try taking biotin, I know a lot of the meds cause hair loss. For the itching you may want to go to a dermatologist and see what they have to say.

having same issues and sores on the scalp along with a sore scalp :( this is tom uch at times to deal with all teh "ouchiness" ...and fatigue ...
i take a hair vitmain , but its not helping with any hair loss ..not sure if the meds will allow hair to stay put since they are so strong.

My scalp is always sore too. I tried putting things inside my hat to block the sun, but it does no good. I think it's a rash. Did you know that the malar rash involves the forehead and scalp in some people? It's not always just on the face.

YES I WAS TOLD A WHILE AGO BY ANOTHER POSTER THAT IT CAN ooops sorry about capitols...yes , it can effect the scalp as well ...rite , the sun makes it worse or heat :(:( richied ..sucky huh ? and it 's so sore as well :( take care .....

Somehow the sun seems to get through anything I wear and trigger this rash on my face, scalp, and forehead. Seems like getting sun on my arms triggers the rash on my face...does that make sense to anyone?

I've seen some posts where people said that just the heat alone can trigger rashes like this.

Feels like a perpetual sunburn, except that it goes away completely overnight and only affects the same specific areas.

yes ..i think its just the heat that can make it react :(my skin feels like it actually sizzling ,scary sensation..
