Hello freinds in need some advice about working. Last October I was out sick for a while with lupus reasons, and Ra. I recently went back to work in Dec. Last week I had to go my Dr for being woken up with my heart jumping out of my skin, this has been going on awhile and I needed to see if they can do anything about this. I went to work the next day and was told I have no more personal leave or sick leave left and that I can not use LWOP which is stuiped , she made me feel like a loser and emmbressed . My question is can I file fmla and have time off with out pay for dr. appts.? I was offered a job that I would only work 2 24 hour shifs, its called a live in cna Thursdays and Fridays the only problem I cant get insurance for six months. But that would give me the time off to get dr appts done. I am torn on what to do. Thanks so much... Marie
You get your packet at work. Take it to your Doctor, who fills it out and faxes it in.
The FMLA rules are suppose to be posted at your place of employment or on their website.

my husband ,has used FMLA for 6 years now..It has to usually be updated every 6 months..his can be used,for anything related..such as just not feeling well,to any appointments.
but,if you are about to change jobs,I don't quite know how this might apply..and are you doing this through an agency..or private duty?
sticky situation...sorry I couldn't be of more help..prior reply is right,your employer has the appropiate paperwork..but if you are changing jobs,that might change the pucture..I didn't see you mention what type of job you are doing now..
