Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
As for whether or not lupus can disrupt one's GI tract, the answer is yes. It's one of the manifestations I've been dealing with recently. Fortunately for me, I accidentally discovered that magnesium citrate (in powdered form) was helpful for my stomach, colon, and bladder. I also take probiotics and eat gluten-free (sometimes grain-free). I can't even digest grain-fed beef anymore and must buy grass-fed beef. Here's a link with some info on lupus and the gi tract that might be helpful. Best wishes to you.
