Disability Doctor

Hello. Friends
I have my first vist with the disability doctor next week ,if you have some good pointers for me it would be great. I have not been dx with lupus yet but have several symptoms skin problems and some blood test positive. I do have ra ,graves disease , dry eye syndrom , chronic fatigue and other arthritis disease. My main big problem is my eye vision issues. Corneal ulcures in right eye and vision disturbance in left eye at times double vision. I'm a little nervous about the appointment . Thank you for this site.

Be sure to take the pictures of your rashes with you. And make a list of all your symptoms, includes dates if you remember them. I've even printed off articles from the web and given them to my doctors. Also, take a list of questions, so that you don't forget anything. It can be very frustrating, but don't give up. I would just have someone drive you. If you use a cane, bring it. They seem to want to know how you can move (even though we might be able to move one day, and not so much the next.) I can drive myself and I was able to get down into a deep knee bend (although I had trouble getting up). The problem with me is I can drive, but the next day I'm flat on the couch the next day. I guess if you can do these things, explain fatigue. I don't know if it would help or not. But the fact that I drove myself counted against me. It's a really brief and cursory exam. A lot of people are denied the first time, and then you have to wait a year to see a judge. Good luck.

My SLE/MCTD-friend, who is extremely unwell on a very regular basis with of the disease, brought their complete health history plus events and their medical catastrophies and every medical letter they could lay hands on, to make sure and back-up everything they say with documented evidence and facts, Adding to that, they had all their usual symptomatic symptoms written down, plus a description, how disabling the disease can be at times and they informed their own doctor of this check-up to have the back-up of their regular doctor, who has known them and their disease for a considerable time. ..
