Burning hot skin

Any ideas? Is this normal for lupus?

I have skin that feels to me like it is burny hot- as though I have a sunburn. Its over the top half of my body and it kept me awake last night.
I am also having fevers between 37.5- 38.5C. The skin doesn't feel hot to other people though.

Its so weird! So annoying too but so are many aspects of this disease!

Yes, I have this also. My face, arms and chest always feel warm and flushed even if they don't look it or feel hot to other people. I also run low fevers. From my experience this is "normal" for lupus. I have to sleep with the ceiling fan on.
But I also can't do mild exercise or take a warm shower without becoming beet red. I have the malar rash also that comes and goes.
Lupus is a crazy illness.

Hi,
I too have the sunburn feeling on my skin, it's not always on the same parts. My scatters around all over, it's an uncomfortable sensation and it feels like I'm on fire. When I have that sensation on my scalp is the worst. It hurts to even brush my hair and to wash my hair.

Take a cool wash cloth and hold it on the hot spots. Also, make an ice pack and hold it on the larger areas. I hope you can get some relief soon. Hugs.....

I have experienced this too. One night my back felt like it, and I couldn't stand any clothing to touch it ...I asked my husband to look at it thinking it must be bright red, and he said it looked fine. Another time my bra straps felt like they were rubbing my skin too hard (like a sunburn). I was at work, so had to bear through it until I got home. I don't know what causes this, but it is frustrating.
