Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.
You might want to go to you doctor or at least call them and report your symptoms and the fact that you have a fever.
My fever generally goes up when I have those symptoms too. I get clumsy and can't seem to hold on to anything when I get a flare like that. Sometimes, I lose my sight (which is scary), and other times it feels like my eyes are about to shoot across the room. I have had seizures...which are not fun. It does feel like someone is "squeezing" my brain (not my head...my brain). And, I don't want to alarm you, but you might actually be experiencing some slight swelling. It's always best to get these thing checked out.
Call the doctor...and feel better.
Mbutterfly - yes, I get horrible butter fingers! Typing with floppy fingers and dropping everything UGGGGH... They are telling me to just stay the course right now - take aspirn, Plaquenil and IVIG... trying to avoid immunosuppresants. I have felt like I was going to seize when my "brain" symptoms have gotten bad.. its a horrible feeling!
Nanny - yes, my ears get this sound... like a whooshing sound.. and it's like I can't hear well (like everythign is muffled), yet its all loud and irritating.. MY BP is always find during these episodes.. but my heart rate and temp go up...
It does make me mad that stress can make physical symptoms worse.. it's so frustrating.. and it makes me feel like it's my fault that I let things get to me and cause exacerbations.. grrr I have been in the sun.. and that of course doesn't help either..
I've found that the best thing I can do is turn to my yoga & serious meditation. I've got guided meditation CD's & it helps so so much.
