I've been on Benlysta for a few years now. It has really helped with my inflammation. At first, I would get infusions, but about a year ago, they came out with auto injectors similar to an epi pen that you can use at home. I like them better. Benlysta has a copay program where you will not have to pay a copay. They will pay for you.

Thanks for the info. I'm on Medicare and pharmaceutical companies don't usually let me use their co-pay card, so I have to pay for those pens. It usually is cheaper to get the IV for me, even though it is inconvenient and more expensive overall.

I have been diagnosed with dermoid lupus recently and have had RA since 2005. I have been through most of the biological medications and they last for a while then stop working. I am now on Medicare due to disability but Medicare does not pay totally for those meds and neither do the supplemental insurances. Since I have Dermoid Lupus I couldn't get the company to pick up the tab either. I was going to end up with a $977.63 co-pay per month. Not doable.
Anyway I never got to try Benlysta IV or self inject. I am now on Cellcept and that along with pain medications seems to hold me somewhat. I still have bad days depending on the weather like today.

Hello! I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2010 and have been on Plaquenil and Prednisone. My doctor wants me to start the Benlysta self Inject. Has anyone had weight gain from the self inject? I struggle already! I appreciate any feedback!!
